AccountabilIT’s technical staff is engaged every day with customers in a variety of environments – on-site datacenters, collocation facilities, and full or hybrid cloud infrastructure. Regardless of the environment, a core skill each of our staff needs to be able to effectively address customer issues is networking. “Network connectivity is the foundation of all services. Servers and their services simply can’t function if the network is down,” explains John Allis, Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) and Client Support Engineer.
Allis launched an internal effort to prepare Network Operation Center (NOC) analyst that were interested in achieving a Cisco
Certified Entry Networking Technician (CCENT) designation. The program focused on core networking fundamentals and improving troubleshooting skills. “We tend to take the network for granted. It’s just there, and most of the time, it just works. However, as soon as it stops working and we can no longer even reach our servers, we are reminded of the critical importance of the network,” adds Allis.
Recently Nick Guerrieri, NOC Shift Supervisor, and Craig Dick, NOC Analyst, both passed the CCENT tests and received their designations. “We’re very proud of both Nick and Craig for this accomplishment. Their motivation to continue learning and expanding their technical knowledge is inspiring to our entire team,” said Matt Adams, Director of Operations. As others continue AccountabilIT’s internal training and prepare to take the CCENT, the individuals that have achieved this designation will now begin working towards receiving a Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) designation.
